Since 1974, Nantucket has celebrated the awakening of Spring by holding an annual Daffodil Festival. No matter what winter brings, nothing stops the beautiful daffodils from springing up all around the island come mid-April. The festival includes an antique car parade, a dog, daffy hat and children’s parade and a picnic in Sconset. Daffy weekend means Spring, Spring means over 3 million beautiful daffodils and a fun weekend you don’t want to miss.
This year, my good friend Domenica of Grey Clothing Co. decided she would put her talent to good daffy day use. She created a Happy Daffy Day custom design and screen-printed it on beautiful burlap totes. Not only is the design itself lovely but she also hand painted each and every bag! If you missed the Daffodil Festival this year, don’t worry! You can still purchase these one of a kind bags.
