Lydia’s Nantucket Maternity Session

I first met Lydia when I moved to Nantucket back in 2013. I took some couple shots of her and her husband Matt out at Bartlett’s Farm. It was so fun! About two years later, she was due with her first baby and I took some more photos of her out by the town pier. Her little baby girl was due any day and I was also pregnant with my baby girl. Our little ones became friends and now we’re two years later and she’s due with baby number two! I couldn’t be more excited for her! It has been such a pleasure getting to know her throughout the years and photographing some incredible moments in their family journey. We couldn’t have had a more beautiful night as we headed out for her maternity session. Nantucket offers some pretty incredible light and this magical November night was no exception. Lydia had a vision and had picked a gorgeous off the shoulder black dress that perfectly showed off her baby bump and she had Flowers on Chestnut create a simple floral crown. She wanted to do some of the photos near a majestic tree out in what we call Nantucket’s Serengeti. What a perfect representation of motherhood – reminds me of the tree of life!
