Barb Moved to Nashville

Where to begin…pre-school I guess! Yes, Barb and I have a picture together from our pre-school days reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in cute white dresses. Our families had both moved from Massachusetts to Maryland and there we were on Bel Air Road in Baltimore, MD learning our ABC’s in an old Funeral Home. Weird, I know. We stuck together and graduated in 2003, still BFF’s and still in Baltimore. We had gone through a lot, good and bad, happy and sad. What sticks out the most to me is our laughs together, our love for music, Dawson’s Creek, epic family vacations, food fights and a friendship that was built on the grace and unconditional love. Barb is that friend that no matter where you’ve been and what you’ve done, she’s there for you. She lays it all on the table, she tells you what she really thinks and believes and isn’t afraid to offend you a little but does it with so much LOVE. She has strong convictions, a beautiful voice and an incredible gift of writing. She has a way of reaching you with her written words in such a genuine way. I’ll be the first one to admit, I’m not a reader, never have been, but when Barbara writes I’m ALL IN. I read every last word and almost always feel like she was writing just for me and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. I’m so thankful for the journey she’s been on since graduating high school and I’m so thankful she started writing and I can’t wait until her first book is published (just start it Barb…JUST DO IT).

Last year at about this same time I was in Chicago visiting her. She had been living there for a while and I had missed her in California so I knew it was time for a visit. We strolled through the freezing streets of Chicago, drank tons of coffee and ate some good pizza. Fast forward 1 year and she’s made a big and exciting decision to make Nashville her new home. Obviously I had to get on a plane to see her and check out her new hood – and her new pup “Nash”, who I fell deeply in love with!  We drank tons of coffee (duh!), had a ton of laughs and took a ton of pics. I love when my friends let me take their picture!  We had an absolute blast and I can’t wait to get out there again. Next time, with the rest of our crew (talkin’ bout you Shelly & Kate!).  Nashville gets our Barb now, maybe for a long time or maybe for a short time but either way, that city just got a whole lot better! Love you Barb! XOXO Check out her BLOG here! I promise, you’ll love it!
