Schuyler’s Surprise Nantucket Proposal at Great Point Lighthouse

Victoria’s brother reached out to me to see if I was able to photograph his friend and soon-to-be brother-in-law’s surprise proposal to his sister! I was so excited to find out that Schuyler had planned to propose at my favorite Nantucket lighthouse – Great Point. Jon and I headed out early to be sure we got a good spot and were in position for the big moment. You have to drive on the beach for about 20 minutes to get to this secluded lighthouse and the drive is absolutely worth it. We found the perfect spot and waited for Schuyler and Victoria to arrive with their families in tow. Victoria was under the impression that they were heading out to the lighthouse for one of their family picnics and fishing trips. Much to her surprise, Schuyler had a different plan and asked his soon-to-be fiance to take a walk to the lighthouse before they started the picnic. Just as they arrived to the lighthouse, Schuyler went down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him. She said yes! Then, it was back for some celebrating with the family before settling in for some Great Point fishing and a picnic they will not soon forget! What a wonderful afternoon and surprise proposal! We are so excited to be photographing Schuyler and Victoria’s wedding next year! Cheers to the happy couple!
