Nantucket Family Photos | Madaket, Nantucket Island

I started taking Lynlee’s Nantucket Family Photos four years ago and nothing could bring me more joy than to see our returning families again! The kiddos grow, they (sometimes) remember me and we laugh a lot! This year’s session was out on Madaket Beach on a perfect summer night! Lovely light, beautiful outfits and happy girls – a dream shoot! From the second we ran out onto the beach until the moment they drove away smiling and waving, we had a blast. There’s something special about a night out on the beach watching two sisters running through the sand and chasing the birds as the sun sets over the water. I often pinch myself to remember this is my job.

Sisters hold a special place in my heart, probably because I’m one of two girls and Jon and I have two girls. There really is a special bond between sisters and being able to capture a little bit of it is wonderful. After we ran around a bit, it was time for some photos of the girls with their parents. They organically started snuggling up together which made for some of my favorite shots of the night.

I loved the colors Lynlee chose for her family to wear at this shoot. The blues and greys were the perfect compliment to the green dunes and blue water. The sunset colors made everything shine and shimmer just a little more than it already was. It was another dreamy night on the beach feeling like we were the only ones out there. I snapped a photo of the family driving away in their car waving goodbye while the girls held up their stuffed animals. There’s nothing better than watching a family leave with smiles on their faces. I already can’t wait to see this family again for more Nantucket family photos this summer. The girls have probably grown so much! Here are a few highlights from our time together!
