Chatham Bars Inn Wedding | Kate and Tommy

I first met Kate and Tommy on Nantucket for their engagement photos. We got to know each other and chatted all about their upcoming Chatham Bars Inn wedding. I felt instantly connected to them and knew it was going to be such a fun wedding! We had the pleasure of working alongside Tasha Bracken of Tasha Bracken Events for the wedding weekend, and it was truly a pleasure.

Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party

We arrived at Chatham Bars Inn the night before the big day – just in time for a stunning rehearsal dinner and a welcome party in the Harbor View Room. It was a perfect night overlooking the water and Kate’s dress was spectacular! We took advantage of the great weather and golden light by snapping a few photos on the lawn. Next, it was time to head inside for dinner and toasts. After dinner and dessert, guests started to arrive and the party was just getting started. You could feel the excitement in the air!

The Wedding Day

We woke up to a bluebird day with the sun shining. All I could think was this was probably what Kate had imagined and wished for. I started the day with the girls getting ready in one of the larger waterside homes on the property and Jon was just down the street with the boys. After some fun getting ready photos, it was time to get Kate into her dress. Oh, and what a dress it was! After a sweet first look in the backyard with her Father, it was time for some photos with her bridesmaids. One of my favorite shots of the day was Kate walking back into the house. Hydrangeas, her gorgeous dress with the train falling just perfectly as she headed inside – dreamy!

Ceremony

After a little bit of downtime and touch-ups, it was ceremony time! The incredibly talented Beach Plum Floral team were there to put their magic touch on the beachside venue and arbor. They never cease to amaze me! Kate walked down the steps with her father as everyone in the crowd gasped. They strolled down the rose petal covered aisle towards a beaming Tommy. After their vows and first kiss as husband and wife, we snuck away for a few minutes of portraits and quiet time.

We arrived back to Beach House where Jon captured cocktail hour and I made my way inside for detail shots. Tasha and Jill from Beach Plum nailed it! The tables were classy and timeless with white and blue hydrangeas covering almost every inch. The highlights for me were the napkins, plates and menus that matched the florals.

The Reception

After guests made their way into the tent, it was time for Kate and Tommy’s first dance. I loved their blue and white striped flooring! After a fun and lively set from the band, speeches began. Tommy’s best bud gave a great speech and Kate’s two brothers did a joint speech that was truly touching. After they raised a toast to the newlyweds, it was portrait time and the light was perfect!

We walked down to the beach and over to the dock. I was swooning over the light and the cotton candy skies that are what dreams are made of. These were our final portraits of the day and they were some of my favorites. We got them back to their party in no time and the dance party was just starting! Kate changed into a short dress with cutouts on the side and feathers on the sleeves. It was beautiful! Finally, it was time for everyone to head to the after party.
