Daffy Day 2015

This was the first year I was able to really experience Daffy Day on Nantucket! It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. Jon and I arrived downtown just before the parade began. There were tons of people gathered around to see the colorful and decorated cars, dogs and hats. I found myself walking very slowly taking it all in as Jon pushed me along. We headed down to the end of Center Street where we snapped some photos and waved as the vintage cars drove past us filled with happy daffy folks.

After the car parade, we headed back over to Main Street for the Daffy Dog Parade, and then out to Sconset for the famous picnic! We set up a blanket in the sun and people watched for a couple of hours. It was a good day. Looking forward to next year already! Thank you to the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce for putting on such a great event!
